Al Magnus is an artist born in France. His first encounter with photography takes place at the age of ten when he was captivated by making some light performances on black and white prints with the help of a Voigtländer camera in a cell. From its beginnings, it continued maintaining a brilliant vision of the photography, that modestly tried to contribute in the majority of the compositions and the color used to reinforce an atmosphere. After these tests with little success, and the abandonment of any pretension in the field of photography, he has devoted himself to studying science. He is currently the holder of a degree in physical chemistry and a doctorate in science, which makes him feel very close to an experimental approach to all science.
Around the year 2000, he bought a negative scanner, followed by a printer almost as a “caprice”. At that time, he could realize that the excellent technical mastery of the tools, thanks to his training, was the best way to overcome the frustration. Magnus, channeled the energy exclusively to the realization of a personal approach to photography. He is the father of three fabulous children, and lives with his wife in the same place where he works, between Provence and Cevennes.
