Ekaterina Zakharova is a Russian photographer specializing in nudes.
Ekaterina Zakharova‘s photographs are a powerful sensual exploration of the male form and its relationship to other men, sexuality, gender and the world.
Nor are they as well known or readily available as such extraordinarily individual works of art should be. This is partly due to the intense eroticism and nudity NSFW.
But it is also for reasons that Zakharova explained long after MyGayToronto.com and MGT had fallen in love about her work. He requested an interview to get their attention.
Zakharova is braver, more sexually philosophical and more fearless than she reveals at first glance.
I have always admired beauty, not necessarily in terms of well known and accepted standards, but rather the beauty of an object. A person is an object of beauty when I look through a camera, as much as any natural event.
As a child, I would spend hours looking at tree bark, the sand on a clock, or the texture of skin. Everything is a combination of opposites: right does not exist without wrong; chaos is impossible without order; everything is connected and therefore everything has a right to exist.
This is the magic of photography: that one can capture the moment of a connection and maintain it for all eternity. I cannot draw, so photography became my only form of expression and, in many cases, the only way to communicate.
