ANTILLA

A personal project through which I aim to show life in the Antilles and publish a book called “ANTILLA. Painting dreams.”

The Antilles were the first point of contact between Europe and America after Christopher Columbus' arrival in 1492. Before European colonization, they were inhabited by various indigenous peoples such as the Taínos, the Caribs, and the Arawaks.

During the 16th to 19th centuries, the Antilles became a key stage for rivalry between European powers such as Spain, France, England, and the Netherlands.

I am currently developing this work, in which I aim to express what I feel and experience on these islands, especially in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Cuba.
