Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison are marriage that have been producing images together for more than 20 years. His work focuses on the relationship between human beings and the environment, an idea that has only recently become popular with movements such as the Go Green initiative and concepts such as the carbon footprint. Thanks to the use of photoetches, collages and painting techniques, ParkeHarrisons create cinematic environments that explore the way we interact with our natural environment.
The work of the ParkeHarrisons can be found in more than 20 prestigious museum collections, and his book The Architect’s Brother was named one of the top ten photography books by The New York Times magazine in 2000. Recently, The couple has begun to work on more dramatic pieces such as large sculptures to complement the dreamlike qualities of their photoetched.
