Alec Soth

El trabajo de Alec Soth está enraizado en la tradición típicamente americana de tomar fotgrafías «on-the-road» desarrollada por Walker Evans, Robert Frank y Stephen Shore.

En Alec no parece haber un deseo exclusivo estadounidense de viajar y narrar la crónica de sus aventuras como en «Huckleberry Finn» hasta «Easy Rider».

Consiguió becas otorgadas por el «McKnight», «Bush», y la «Fundación Jerome» y fue el destinatario de la Prize Santa Fe para la Fotografía.

Sus fotografías están representados en importantes colecciones públicas y privadas, incluyendo el Museo de Arte Moderno, el Museo de Bellas Artes de Houston y el Centro de Arte Walker San Francisco. Su trabajo ha sido presentado en numerosas exposiciones individuales y colectivas, incluyendo la Bienal Whitney 2004 y una encuesta de carrera en el Jeu de Paume en 2008.
